While as a muslim myself I of course don't believe the revelations of the prophet, salallahu 'alayhi wa salam, were the result of epilepsy, there are forms of epilepsy which result in what feel to the afflicted like profound religious experiences.  This to the extent that some refuse treatment where it is available, because to them "treatment" is akin to asking them to give up a beautiful gift.</description>
