Well if we look in 1 Chronicles 20:5 the full story is shown, because here in Samuel (which is an older text) is lacking “brother” another explanation is before Goliath the untranslatable word “et” which is an object marker can be translated “with Goliath” as in the one who was with Goliath, his brother. It is quite interesting how all the LXX texts all have the same on this, but its not the only instances where this occurs and some not so. But seeing this should shed some light if one is not so hard headed…
