To wish the non-Muslims with Merry Christmas or any of their religious festivals is haraam (forbidden), by consensus of the ulama ( ijma' ), as Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, said:祝愿他们的宗教节日的非穆斯林任何圣诞快乐或非法的 （ijma'）（乌里玛禁止），以协商一致的，因为伊本盖伊目，愿上帝怜悯他，说：

Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc., because the Prophet (P) said:同样，穆斯林禁止模仿，等不信者，或因各方在这种场合，交换礼物，或发放糖果或食物，工作时间或采取关闭，因为先知（规划）说：
